Five Last Minute Gift Ideas for Your Wife
Hello everyone, and a very happy Monday to you all! With the holidays coming up, I thought I would step in and try and lend a helping hand to all those husbands out there that have perhaps procrastinated in buying their significant other a Christmas gift or perhaps are just at a loss for what a good gift may be. Now, unfortunately, we cannot all buy them the Ferrari they might want but they can have the 178th best thing instead. It will still give a much-needed boost to the ol’ brownie points going into the new year. Now if you are anything like my dad, buying gifts is a strange complicated process. He has historically been just as surprised at what he “got” his kids for Christmas as we were. Luckily, I and my lovely wife Becca, have compiled a small list of last minute gift ideas that will hopefully prevent you from sharing the doghouse with fido. So you can never say we don’t look out for your well being. Without further ado, here is our list for five gift ideas for your spouse or lady friend this year. Now if you are the wife who happens to read this, Becca says feel free to print it out and staple it to his forehead, then act surprised anyway.
Now I know what you are thinking. ‘’I can do this one myself’’. This is historically not a good idea as the last time this happened you ended up with four children. We are trying to lighten the stress load, not add to it. A professional massage is one of the best things for reducing stress, especially around the holiday season and shows care for their mental and physical well being.
A Date Night
This one is an oldie, but still a great option. Now some of you might already have this one figured out, but if you are anything like a lot of the men in my family and consider princess auto parts store a date night hot spot, you may want to reconsider your thought process. Work and play should not mix, sometime you need to wine and dine your S.O. like you are on your honeymoon.
Monthly Food Subscription
Skip the grocery store and meal planning with a monthly food subscription. This helps reduce the stress of always having to plan out what to buy and prepare. My sister-in-law personally uses a company called HelloFresh. There are other companies such as PeachDish and Home Chef. Hey, you will benefit greatly from great home-cooked food that's delivered to the address of your convenience.
Now this one seems a bit obvious. However, there's a bit of a catch. You don't actually know what she likes as well as you think she does. Our suggestion which I have used many times is to simply tell her what you would like to get for her and then take her along to pick it out herself. This shopping trip goes along very well with the aforementioned date night. It's still a great surprise when you can plan out an evening for her in advance. This way you can be sure she is completely satisfied with what she got.
This can either be together or even solo. Sometimes all she needs is some time alone to recharge the batteries. This can be a good opportunity for them to meet up with friends. This goes along well with the massage as a spa package. Booking a nice hotel with access to a spa is always a good choice.
Well, that's all I have for now. This list could definitely keep going from my own experience, but I don't want to get too long here. However, I thought I should also include a list of what NOT to get your wife/lady friend this holiday season.
On sale jewelry
This has been discussed already, but matching snowman earrings for 75 percent off is one way to catch a chill from them.
Ahhh the latest in drone technology, aaaand I just need to borrow that for sec honey…
It's the couch for you, sir.
She is probably in pretty good shape if she can still chuck a treadmill at your head.
In all honesty, some of you may actually want some of these things because they are pretty cool depending on what it is. However, if your wife values experiences and something outside the box, then this is what we suggest. Anyways, it all for fun and we hope everyone is having a great December so far. Gary and Calvin are in Africa and will keep us updated when they have a chance. I’m sure we will have some exciting stories soon. I’m hoping it involves Calvin being chased by a cape buffalo. Ah family, so important around this time of year. Have a wonderful week.
